Blue Ridge is located in the village of Polzeath, Cornwall, with fantastic views of the surf and the golden sands of the beach just a stroll down the hill.
Offering off-road parking for four cars, a large lawn overlooking the sea and four well-appointed bedrooms, this spectacular dog-friendly holiday home is the ideal base from which to explore all that Cornwall has to offer with friends and family.
Step through the door into the open-plan living area, where you and your guests may relax on the soft sofas while the chosen cook gets to work in the modern kitchen.
If you're looking to spend some quality time with your family, you can do so in a number of ways: in the lounge/dining area, where you can enjoy their culinary creations and reflect on the memories you've made so far; in the mezzanine snug with balconies overlooking the sea at the front and countryside valley at the back, where you can get away from it all downstairs, perhaps starting a jigsaw, striking up a board game competition or simply get lost in a good book; or in the front garden, where you can take in the breathtaking views of the sea as the sun sets.
Wash away the day's exploits in the contemporary family bathroom or separate shower room on the ground floor before retiring to one of the four bedrooms on the ground floor, three of which are located at the front of the house so that almost all have the advantage of the sea views (two doubles and a twin at the front, a single room at the rear side).
The house is decorated with calming, neutral decor with sophisticated coastal nuances and modern comforts that everyone will appreciate.
The abundance of outdoor space in the wind-sheltered terrace at the back as well as the garden at the front means sunny days can be appreciated without going too far!
When ready to explore, leave the cars behind and walk straight from Blue Ridge, either down into village or take the track down to Polzeath Beach, where you can take to the waves by hiring a surf board or simply relax on the sand looking out across the estuary to Trevose Head on the other side, before rewarding yourself with drinks at Surfside or a meal with a one-of-a-kind view at Atlantic Bar and Kitchen.
The South West Coast Path, which stretches for 630 miles can be picked up from the beach in both directions, making it convenient to don your walking boots and hike up to Pentire Point for incredible vistas of the Rumps and sea, perhaps trotting round to Pentyre Cafe for a reviving hunk of cake.
Head south on the path to explore the rockpools at Greenaway's stony beach at low tide or to Daymer Bay for shallow sandy shores, Brea Hill viewpoint, the famous St. Enodoc Church.
From here, you will see the eponymous St. Enodoc Golf Course, why not book in for a round on one of their two stunning courses which stretch from Rock to Daymer Bay?
To the north of Polzeath are the smaller beaches of Lundy and bay of Port Quin or continue to Port Isaac where Doc Martin scenes were filmed.
If you can tear yourself away from the beach, for adventures with children you can drive to Camel Creek adventure park near Padstow to expel their energy, the Eden Project to educate and fascinate the whole family and Newquay Zoo and Aquarium for animal-themed days out.
Blue Ridge is where you may find all this and more.
