Alternately you can head high up towards the National Trust reserves of Pentire point and the Rumps, looking out for those wonderful words from the war poet Laurence Binyon, where in 1914 he wrote For the Fallen.
Sightings of cormorants, gannets, and seals are common and the lucky few may spot a porpoise or dolphin.
