Lynne “Westray house is a very comfortable home with all necessary amenities.”

It is in a convenient position close to the beach and local shops. Sadly there is a lot of building work going on around the property which was noisy and disturbing at times. The road leading up to the property was frequently blocked with grab Lorries during our stay. The house itself could do with a spring clean as there was evident dust on picture frames and skirting boards. The hot tub was being filled with water and the maintenance man was there when we arrived on Friday afternoon. We noted that the filter being inserted was very discoloured. When the hot tub had reached the required temperature it was also noted that the interior of the tub had not been cleaned properly and there was a brown ring around it. However all things taken into consideration we all enjoyed our stay there.
Thank you for your feedback and we are pleased you liked the house and enjoyed your stay. You arrived before the check in time and seem to have seen some of the behind the scenes preparation going on! We have spoken to our hot tub maintenance team and they said the discolouration you noticed on the water filter is a result of the chemicals reacting with the filter itself (which does not need to be changed each week), not it being dirty. The brown line is due to the minerals in the water reacting with the chemicals, is not dirty and is unavoidable. Please be reassured that the hot tub is professionally drained and thoroughly cleaned before every booking. For other tenants’ benefit, the building work is at the end of the road but not next to or around the property itself. There is little we can do about this but we have always found the builders to be flexible and friendly and willing to move if we need access. Charlie (Owner) Property Owner

The property
Believed to have been built in the early 1900s, Westray House is one of the original houses in Polzeath, North Cornwall.
Set in a commanding position a short walk from the centre of the village.
On the seaward side of the house the sun deck has exceptional sea views over the sandy beach, Stepper Point, Gulland Island and the Atlantic Ocean and the added benefit of a hot tub (available at an additional charge).
Steps lead to the landscaped, terraced garden.
The house is accessed via an unmade private road and parking is provided for 2 vehicles at the bottom of the garden.
Sleeping 8 people in 4 bedrooms with 4 bath/shower rooms and 4 WCs, this is a superb, supremely comfortable self catering holiday haven. The house retains many of its original features including slate flag stone flooring in the kitchen, high ceilings and large windows, giving the house a light, modern feel but with the traditional charm of the original building.
A stunning modern wood burner set into the sitting room wall provides a focal point for evenings in with family, friends or a good book.
The first floor has 3 bedrooms; one boasts a comfortable super-king bed with ensuite shower room; 2 further bedrooms (one super-king and one twin) share a smart family bathroom.
Up on the second floor, a twin bedded room with a vaulted ceiling enjoys an ensuite shower room.
The embodiment of a Cornish seaside holiday, Polzeath ticks the boxes for all members of the family.
With a grocery store nearby and a choice of cafes and restaurants, you can leave the car idle for the rest of the week.
So close to the beach, the golden sands are perfect for sunbathers, while the surfers in the family can be the first to hit the waves; return for a slap-up breakfast before heading back into the water.
Hikers and the family dogs can stomp along the coastal path to discover grand cliffs and the quieter bays of Lundy Bay and Epphaven, even reaching Port Quin, this serene cove is an excellent spot to swim at high tide.
