    “We liked the house very much.”

    The rooms are tastfully and with love decorated. One suggestion: In the smaller bedroom ( first floor) I needed some wallhooks with hangers and a small chair in order to take the clothes off in the evening. Nevertheless nothing to complain about ! Everything is made for a nice stay. Thank you! Reina from Germany

Nestled in the old fishing village of Port Isaac, in North Cornwall, The Mizzen is a contemporary, self-catering cottage.

Beautifully refurbished with quality fixtures and fittings, The new Owner has recently made some beautiful sympathetic upgrades to the property in 2023, including new furniture, decorated throughout and renovations to the courtyards.

The Mizzen sleeps up to six guests, with four bedrooms and two bathrooms spread over three floors.

Enter the property to discover a bright open-plan living space that a lovely, homely feel thanks to slate flooring, exposed ceiling beams and a woodburning stove – perfect for lighting on chilly evenings and settling on the sofas to watch and listen to the crackling of wood.

The contemporary kitchen has well-appointed built-in appliances and plenty of worktop space for preparing and cooking gourmet meals on nights where you don’t fancy eating out.

The door at the rear of the kitchen leads out to an enclosed patio garden with shrubs and colourful plants – a delightful spot to sit and enjoy a Cornish cream tea or a home cooked meal.

The two double and two single bedrooms are split over the first and second floors, each tastefully decorated with quality wooden furniture.

The bedrooms on each floor are also served by a bathroom with walk-in shower, basin, and WC.

This coastal bolthole is just a few minutes’ walk from the picturesque harbour, shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs.

From Port Isaac there are plenty of lovely towns and villages to explore along the coast.

Head to Padstow, offering lovers of seafood a gastronomical delight with the sheer abundance of quality restaurants, including Rick Stein’s several establishments.

Visitors to Tintagel can immerse themselves in all things connected to King Arthur at Tintagel Castle and walk across the footbridge to explore Merlin’s Cave.

At the end of an exciting day return to The Mizzen to relax, before doing it all over again!

Port Isaac; one of the true Cornish treasures. A beautiful fishing village nestling in a steep sided valley, the old village in the valley remains unchanged from its days of fishing, slate export and smuggling in the previous century. An abundance of small character properties complemented by larger cliff-top retreats, can be found with easy access to the numerous restaurants and shops of the village. The sandy harbour provides an abundance of rock pools as the tide retreats. There is ample parking at the top of the village and the village is a popular tourist destination with plenty of attractions including the dramatic Doyden Castle, the beautiful Lundy Bay and the famous Doc Martin's clinic. There are also plenty of pubs, restaurants, and shops in the village. Just a short drive from the beaches of Polzeath, Daymer and Rock, it is perfect for romantic and family holidays alike.
