Porthilly Greys is a unique, renovated Grade II listed Cornish farmhouse settled near Rock in Cornwall.
Porthilly Greys has its roots as a Grey Friars monastic hamlet; although retaining certain ancient elements like its slate flooring and a low ceiling, it has been entirely rebuilt into a contemporary home-from-home, making it ideal for a family of eight to ten's coastal break.
When you arrive, you will find three off-road parking places as well as an electric charging station for your convenience.
After a long day, step inside to be greeted by a sophisticated sitting area with a crackling open fire; enjoy a well-deserved moment of relaxation and toast your toes as you watch your favourite show on the TV.
The sitting room leads to the contemporary extension's superb kitchen/diner, which showcases shaker-style cabinetry and a spacious breakfast bar, as well as ample appliances including an American-style fridge/freezer and a wine chiller; the assigned chef of the group will have no trouble preparing tasty meals here!
Sit down to a delicious supper at the dining table while planning your holiday schedule or take your meal outdoors to the fantastic back garden, which also has a convenient outdoor shower and wetsuit rack.
Four of the five wonderful, first-floor bedrooms are in the main house, featuring two magnificent king-sizes with en-suite shower facilities and two twins with zip/link beds for flexible sleeping arrangements.
The bedrooms in the main residence also have access to an adjacent bathroom, which features a rainfall, walk-in shower as well as a magnificent, roll-top bath; the ground floor also boasts a wet room, excellent for avoiding those morning queues!
Those looking for a bit of solitude may appreciate the annex's additional king-size room with an en-suite.
Porthilly Greys is fewer than 200 metres from Porthilly Cove, which is located on the Camel Estuary, so you can have fun in the sun and sand without having to venture far from this fantastic property.
The neighbouring Porthilly Farm provides a delightful selection of mussels and oysters that you can bring home to make fresh, seafood dishes with, or if you don't feel like cooking, walk into Rock to find plenty of cafés and bars to visit!
Spend some more time in Rock and enjoy its gorgeous beach and water-based activities before catching a boat to Padstow, where the National Lobster Hatchery and Prideaux Place can be discovered, as well as access to the South West Coastal Path.
This area of Cornwall still has a lot to offer, with Polzeath and Wadebridge close and offering much to do, as well as the excellent destinations of Bodmin Moor, Newquay, and St Austell, just to name a few, located further afield.
There is so much joy to be had at Porthilly Greys!
