“Overall a nice cottage that would get 4 stars if it were not for the storage heating system.”

We arrived to a freezing cold cottage with storage heaters that had no heat at all apart from the one in the main sitting room, which was struggling to cope. It was telling that there were two electric heaters, a quick phone call for help to the office and the maintenance guy arrived to advise us on how to use them and deliver another heater. If you don’t want to boil at 2 in the morning make sure you adjust them before you go to bed. The rooms were either cold or too hot for the whole stay ...

The rooms were either cold or too hot for the whole stay which made it a less relaxing than it might have been otherwise because the sitting room is nicely furnished. The kitchen was also cold as there is no heating close enough to make an impact on a cold Feb morning. The beds were comfortable and the upstairs bathroom was nice, but the downstairs shower room was freezing again so only used it when really needed. Only odd things were the square dinner plates that were too big for the dishwasher and the washing up bowl was too big for the sink so a bit of a faff to wash up. Otherwise the kitchen seemed well kitted out. The outside space looked nice but we didn’t use it being February.
